Jasmin Stangl-Brachnik began kayaking at the age of nine and discovered her passion for freestyle at just twelve. She quickly made history as the first Austrian junior woman to compete at the Freestyle World Championships, and went straight into the finals at her very first World Championships as a junior—another first for Austria.

In 2025, she reached another major milestone by winning Austria’s first-ever women’sfreestyle medal, taking 3rd place in C1 at the World Championships in Plattling. Jasmin is also the first Austrian State Champion in Kayak Freestyle, playing a key role in the development of women’s freestyle paddling in Austria.

Alongside her competitive career, Jasmin works as an international kayaking coach, coaching both kids and adults—from young paddlers discovering kayaking for the first time to committed athletes aiming to progress their skills. She values working with a wide age range and adapts her coaching to each individual, helping paddlers build confidence, technique, and a long-term love for the sport. Her goal is to spread the passion for kayakingand make the sport accessible and inspiring for everyone.

Three years ago, Jasmin began focusing seriously on creeking, adding steep whitewater and exploration to her paddling. Today, you’ll find her at international freestyle and downriverraces, as well as on creeks around the world. Living full-time out of her van, she follows the rivers wherever they lead—combining competition, coaching, and adventure into a life shaped by water.
