Based between France and Austria, Mathieu joined the SPADE team in spring 2025. An engineer by training and a river guide by passion, he sees outdoor sports as both a playground and a field of study. Whether it’s a pair of trail shoes, a kayak, or a set of skis, he loves to understand how performance takes shape through design.

On the water, Mathieu moves with ease, guiding, teaching, and sharing his love for kayaking, rafting, and hydrospeed. In France, he also trains and coaches future kayak instructors, passing on his technical expertise and passion for the sport. He doesn’t just practice kayaking, he plays with it, exploring every line, every current, every movement with creativity and flow.

The Salza River has become his open-air classroom, a breathtakingly beautiful river with crystal-clear waters and lush scenery that never ceases to amaze him. And when he’s looking for pure fun and excitement, he heads to the Kummerbrücke section of the Enns River, a lively stretch he knows like the back of his hand, where playfulness meets precision in every rapid.
