Julian Pürstinger comes from Salzburg and discovered kayaking early on – his father took him on the water as a child. At eight years old, he was in the boat himself, and since then, paddling has been an integral part of his life and a great passion.
Julian prefers a playful approach: paddling down a river with friends, surfing, trying out new lines, and enjoying time on the water. For creeking, he relies on his Full House, while for relaxed trips and playful whitewater, he likes to use the Barracuda.
For him, kayaking is not just a sport, but an entire lifestyle. It's about shared journeys, discovering new rivers, evenings around the campfire, and the simple life by the river. It's precisely this mix of adventure, freedom, and community that makes it so appealing to him.
A place that means a lot to him is the Soča in Slovenia. It offers everything a paddler's heart desires and has been with him for many years – almost like a second home.
The most important thing for Julian is the community: paddling together, sharing experiences, and deepening friendships. For him, it's precisely these encounters that make paddling unique.
When he's not in his boat, Julian works in IT. In his free time, he's almost always drawn outdoors – whether paragliding, mountaineering or ski touring. Nature is where he recharges – whether in the air, on the mountain, or on the water.
