Marian Arnu lives in Rosenheim and is still attending school there. However, he's been at home on the water since early childhood: He first sat in a kayak at age four, and has been training in canoe slalom since he was seven. He is already the fourth generation in his family to paddle – his father was an avid whitewater paddler, his mother competed in slalom, later did freestyle, and eventually focused mainly on whitewater.

Today, Marian is active in many areas of kayaking – canoe slalom, whitewater, freestyle, and, since its introduction, kayak cross. Cross, in particular, has become his favorite discipline because it's the perfect mix of everything. He has already achieved some great successes here in the Spade Barracuda.

Marian prefers paddling whitewater because it offers the most freedom and opportunities to play. During the week, he's usually in a slalom boat, but on weekends, he decides spontaneously: a slalom competition, whitewater, or simply whatever he feels like doing.

His passion for paddling has already taken him to many special places – from the steep creeks of Scandinavia to the major slalom courses of Central Europe and the wild rivers of Southern Europe. Despite all these travels, he is always drawn back to Austria: Lofer is almost a second home to him, where he spends countless days on the water and knows every line.

For Marian, kayaking means far more than just a sport – it's an opportunity for him to discover the world in a very special way. His big goal is to travel the world and reach places that can only be seen by kayak.
